There are a lot of unpleasant things going on in the world right now. Wars, climate change, corruption, oppression, starvation, extinctions…..

So I thought this would be a good time to make as much of a difference as we can and to empower our children with the notion that being young doesn’t mean being powerless in the face of challenges. Everyone can make a difference!

This project pack is an opportunity for your children to take action to make the world better. You can work your way through all of it, do just one or two sections or pick out particular activities that take your fancy. As TESCO say in their adverts, “Every little helps!”

Whether you’re planting flowers for the bees and butterflies, leaving encouraging messages around your neighbourhood, doing a week or two of sponsored reading to raise money for a charity, or writing to your MP to encourage the government to take more action on clean energy, you’re changing the world in a small way.

This pack would make a lovely Summer holiday pack , or a project to do in the run up to Christmas/ Hanukkah / Eid. It’s an opportunity for your family to join together doing a whole range of activities that will leave you with a warm glow.

The activities open the door to all kinds of deeper conversations – the sort it always feels really good to have with your kids. You might find yourself talking about generosity vs greed, justice and fairness, or what stewardship of the earth could, or should, involve. You might have conversations about pollution, war, and weed-killers, balance, harmony, and mindful living, and what it means to live congruently with your own values.

Above all, you may start to put into words your family’s vision for the world you’d love to see and feel good about taking action towards making it happen.
